My Knitted Boyfriend

Noortje de Keijzer's My Knitted Boyfriend is so lovely, and now I want to learn how to knit.

I have a wonderful boy, but then maybe I could knit a dog for us.

The Brooklyn Beekeeper

This documentary short is positively mesmerizing. Is it too late to divert my art history career and get into beekeeping? Yes? Oh darn.

Simon's Cat: Holiday Edition

Next to Maru, Simon's cat really is the best feline out there. Watch him, love him.

Loïe Fuller in "Danse Serptentine"

We watched this dance in one of my graduate classes to get an idea of how Futurists conceived of movement without figuration. I thought it was so gorgeous, so I'm sharing:

Simon's Cat = Best Cat

Moody and I have a new obsession: Simon's cat. Simon Tofield, British animator and (presumably) very excellent pet owner, has achieved something of a cult following around animation shorts of the adventures and misadventures of his charming feline. New to this following? Moody and Kelly.

Moody, who isn't the fondest of cats, has found in them proof that we should never have one. I, on the other hand, think they prove why we absolutely must. Enjoy.

(Annnnnnd, for a little balance, the last video is Simon's Sister's Dog. Of course)

Say Something Nice

I'm sharing this for three reasons. 1.) It made me smile. 2.) I miss New York City. 3.) The little dude at 2:12.

To infinity...and beyond!

Doggelganger!

This was too good not to share. The Pedigree Adoption Drive initiative and Auckland's SPCA have the (very entertaining) "Doggelganger" match system up in the hopes that your physical doggie doppelganger might also be the perfect pet for you. You can upload a picture, or use your webcam. As you can see, Moody and I hopped right to it. More reasons to visit New Zealand.

Moody's a small Staffy mix named Tammy, and I'm a Heeler named Toodles. Somebody adopt us.
