Italian artist Igor Scalisi Palminteri scours the markets of Palermo, looking for religious icons and statuary, over which he paints the colors and logos of the superheroes that seem to have become just as, well, iconic. The result is awesome, and sincerely thought-provoking. How and who, in 2012, do we mythologize? And where do religion and myth intersect with pop culture?
